Cinderella Gray

Cinderella Gray is the best sports anime I have ever seen!

I haven't been interested in sport anime so I haven't watched many of them. The only sports anime I was truly invested in was Inazuma Eleven, insane anime. Why are soccer balls heat-seeking missiles in there?

Anyways, I got an interest in Uma when Horse Race Tests got popular on Twitter. It was a series of crudely drawn horses bouncing in a stage, seeing what horse can reach the finish line.

It was a blast. I even made my cousin watch it and we had fun betting on what horse would win! There was a ton of fanart coming out of it as well. While browsing Twitter, looking at fanart, I found out that there was a horse racing game that's similar: Uma Musume.

I watched the first two seasons of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby and didn't finish the third season. The second season set the bar high in my opinion. The third season lacked.

I waited for a bit... then Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray was actually airing while Horse Race Tests was going on! Of course, I watched it and had a blast with the first 4 episodes.

I almost never watch currently running anime. I prefer it to build up so I can avoid the annoying cliffhangers anime sometimes has. Yet, I was so engrossed in the story and the running that I felt the need to follow it very closely.

It's peak, please watch it if you have the time.

Spy x Family

Spy x Family is a really comfortable anime for me.

I used to adore slice-of-life stories back in my childhood. The easily digestible format of it charmed me and the silly things the characters do. I still like some aspects of slice-of-life but I need a strong plot to follow in order to engage with shows nowadays.

Spy x Family feels like a combination of these two. A high-stakes plot yet still touching on slice-of-life at times.

Nothing else to say about it, it's a wonderful anime.

My Hero Academia

One of the first shonen anime I have ever watched.

I've watched this when I was a kid, but now I'm studying computer science. Even through these turbulent times, watching this as a wandering adult, I am still enamored by the scenes in this anime.

Talking briefly about the good parts of this show, the fight scenes are good. This is probably the most fundamental aspect of a shonen anime, they needed to nail this. And they did!

Also, this doesn't happen often. I felt my tears welling up in the emotional scenes. It caught me by surprise that they sympathized with the villains... but that's what cool heros do. Well done.

To be honest, I would not mind if MHA got #1 instead of Cinderella Gray on the monthly rankings.

Also, Toru Hagakure is so cute!
